About Us

Our Mission

Our end goal is simple: To END the spiking epidemic the UK.
Our platform is designed to be a constructive tool for both clubbers and clubs alike; we do this with our ‘report spiking’ tool, where unfortunate victims of spiking can shed light on their experience, either showcasing the clubs good work or holding them to account.

However… Merely telling clubs to be better is as unconstructive as it is unoriginal especially for a company with grand ambitions like ours! We produce resources, posters, and infographics to provide insight into not only, how our venues can ensure our safety, but the measures we can take as party-goers to ensure our own safety.
We can’t do this on our own however, if you have been spiked, please use our report tool to help us prevent this from happening to others.

Why Do We Do It???

In around August time of 2021 a friend of mine who we’ll call Nadia (not her real name) was out clubbing in a local gay bar with some friends. One of the friends, Courtney (not her real name), shared the same black hair and general aesthetic with Nadia.
After a couple drinks the night was quickly underway, but unfortunately that was where their nights ended. Both of the girls collapsed in the club and bouncers were quick to kick both out of the venue, stating that both were ‘too drunk’. Regardless of the type of intoxication, help should always be offered to those in distress.
Luckily for both Nadia and Courtney the story ends there and their friends were quick enough, and sharp enough to call 999 immediately and get the girls to a hospital. Luckily, after being kept for two days both were released and made a full recovery.

We do what we do to ensure, to the best of our ability, that Nadia and Courtney’s story remains exclusive to them. We do what we do so that no-one ever finds themselves in a similar situation. We do what we do so that party-goes who find themselves in a similar situation can wake up in the morning, grateful that the venue that they visited were prepared.

Doom and gloom aside, we also think it’s a pretty good cause in general 🙂

Our Founder

My name’s Liam and I’m a 20-year-old student from Essex. Every start-up seems to have some kind of vanity section devoted to their founder, so I guess here’s mine!
I started Safer Spaces for all the Nadia’s and Courtney’s of the world; men, women, and everyone else. Our clublist feature will help to showcase clubs who are doing their upmost to ensure victims safety; and we will provide adequate resources, stats, and guidelines for those who struggle or are ill informed to keep up with the ever changing landscape of our nightlife.
I aim for Safer Spaces to become a national institute, for safety and (anti) drink spiking in our venues. We will empower both venues and party-goers to take charge of their own nights.

If you would like to help us on our journey please use (if you need to) and spread our platform with your friends! If you would like to work with us as an ambassador or have our resources in and around your university or venues please contact us at: help@saferspaces.uk
